The Culver City Fire Department sent a brush clearance letter to all community members residing in moderate, severe and very high fire hazard severity zones in Culver City.  In an effort to help residents with the disposal of brush waste, staff will place dumpsters at the following locations this week through June 20, 2022.

  • Corner of Wright Terrance & Wrightcrest Drive in Blair Hills
  • Lot where Flaxton Street turns into Youngworth Road

Staff will place a Culver City Fire Department banner on each bin noting that these bins are for BRUSH WASTE ONLY.  Fire Prevention personnel will monitor the dumpsters and have them emptied as necessary.

Over the course of the summer, engine companies will conduct brush inspections to ensure properties have sufficient defensible space surrounding them.

Please direct any questions to Community Risk Reduction at (310) 253-5925. You can also access more information about brush clearance and learn about defensible space by visiting Cal Fire's Ready for Wildfire website and the National Fire Protection Association website
